2022 FGC Rules and Regulations



15th Annual FeliCHI Golf Classic Rules and Regulations

"The Desert Classic"

Scottsdale, AZ

Saturday, March 5th (Day of Days)


            -Location: Continental Gofl Course (https://www.continentalgc.com/golf/course)


            -Time: 7:37am & 7:45am


-Format: Round Robin 6-hole Team Scramble:


-One drive per player must be used in each match


-If a playoff is needed to determine the championship competitors, we will start on hole 1.  Championship matches will also start on the next hole and will continue  until completed.


-Points: 2 points for each hole won, 1 point for each hole halved, 2 points for each match won, 1 point for each team if the match is halved.


            -Top 2 teams advance to 9 Hole Scramble Championship Round (Match play)


            -Bottom 2 teams will play 1 Hole Alternate Shot 

                        - Losers pay for post Classic meal


-Drinks: 1 mixed drink per contestant and 6 beers (beverage that can be purchased from a beer distributor)  per team for each 6 hole match.  The Championship match and Loser bracket will have 6 beers remaining for each team.

Miscellaneous Rules

-Speech will begin at 7:35 am.  If all team representatives are not present at the first tee, a 1-point deduction will be incurred.

- All beers must be a least 4.2% ABV and 12 oz.

-All new USGA rules will be followed.  Pin can remain in, no lining up of any kind and dropping from knee height (if you’re dropping, just give up the hole.  You’re done).  Any other rules can be found at USGA.org


- Puking will result in a 3-point deduction.

- Beer/Drinks not being completed will result in a disqualification and 4th place finish for first time offenders.  Repeat offenders will require a shotgun before each match the next year as well as starting with 0 points on Saturday.  30 rack of beer would be required.

-Any cheating will result in a disqualification and 4th place finish for first time offenders.  Repeat offenders will officially be banned for life.  Ricky or Procida are ready at a moments notice.

     Time ~ 10:30 and 10:40 (depending on front 9 finish)

     Format: 9 Hole Straight Alternate Shot; pairings decided via front 9 net better ball scores

     Points: 3 for low score, 2 for 2nd place, 1 for 3rd place and 0 for 4th place.  These points will carry over to Saturday morning.


     Drinks: Minimum 6 pack per team and 1 mixed drink per player.

            -Location: The Home of the Classic (https://www.walnutlanegolf.com/golf-course)


            -Time: 8:00 am


-Format: Round Robin 6-hole Team Scramble:


-One drive per player must be used in each match


-All 6 hole matches must be completed in 1 hour, 25 minutes.  Each 5-minute interval over the 1:25 time limit will result in a 1-point deduction for each team.


-If a playoff is needed to determine the championship competitors, we will start on hole 1.  Championship matches will also start on hole 1 and will continue  until completed.


-Points: 2 points for each hole won, 1 point for each hole halved, 2 points for each match won, 1 point for each team if the match is halved.


            -Top 2 teams advance to 9 Hole Scramble Championship Round (Match play)


            -Bottom 2 teams will play 6 Hole Alternate Shot (Match Play)


                        - Losers pay for post Classic meal


-Drinks: 1 mixed drink per contestant (individual nips provided; liquor and mixer not) and 6 beers (beverage that can be purchased from a beer distributor)  per team for each 6 hole match.  The Championship match and Loser bracket will have 6 beers remaining for each team.

            Session 2 (9:30 am) TBD

- All beers must be a least 4.2% ABV and 12 oz.

Friday, May 14th, 2021

     Location- Whitemarsh Valley Country Club Front 9 White Tees* (subject to change)

     Time- 2:15PM Chip Off, 2:50 and 3:00 PM Tee Off  (tentative based off of Fahleech smoke schedule)

     Format: 9 Hole Straight Alternate Shot; pairings decided via chip off by an individual team member at practice chipping green prior to round (closest to hole picks groups, team can pick their contestant).  Team PT will pick the chipping spot and chipping order as they were previous year’s winners.

 Bunker shot TBD.

Order below:
1.     NNL 
2.     Baby Blue 
3.     Salmon 
4.     PT


     Points: 3 for low score, 2 for 2nd place, 1 for 3rd place and 0 for 4th place.  These points will carry over to Saturday morning.


     Drinks: Minimum 6 pack per team (locker house provided) and 1 transfusion per player.  

      Whitemarsh Rules and Attire
  • No Cargo shorts/pants or jeans.
  • Regular Golf shirts.  No hoodies/sweatshirts if it's cold.
  • No changing of shoes in parking lot.  Bring your golf spikes into the locker room to get changed.  We will have a place for storage.
  • No BYOB    

     I will be getting there most likely around 12-12:30.  Open invite for people to meet me there at that time for a bite before hitting a few balls.  I'm also happy to meet earlier if people want to play the back 9.  We can set this up closer to the date.  We'll have carts to head down to the range for warm up and chip off.  Scorecard is below for scouting/review purposes.

     After play is done and trophy ceremony has been completed, we are back to the Money Pit for, what is shaping up to be, a wonderful medley of grilled/smoked meats.

2021 FeliCHI Golf Classic Date and Location

 

    The competition committee has convened and determined the date for the 14th Annual FeliCHI Golf Classic.  This years tournament will take place at Walnut Lane Golf Club on May 15th, 2021.  Tee times will be updated at a later date.



     Previous Commish and tournament namesake Joe FeliCHI has graciously offered his home as the hub for Classic weekend.   A formal menu for the Friday dinner will be updated at a later date.

     Location- Split Rock Golf Club South Course, White Tees

     Time- 3:45PM Chip Off, 4:00PM Tee Off

     Format: 9 Hole Straight Alternate Shot; pairings decided via chip off by better ranked individual team members at practice chipping green prior to round (closest to hole picks groups).  Team Thumb will pick the chipping spot and chipping order as they were previous year’s winners.

Order below:
1.     NNL
2.     Baby Blue
3.     Salmon
4.     Thumb



     Points: 3 for low score, 2 for 2nd place, 1 for 3rd place and 0 for 4th place.  These points will carry over to Saturday morning.


     Drinks: Minimum 6 pack per team (Resort Bar*) plus a mixed drink (Resort Bar*) of your choice.
          
After play is done and trophy ceremony has been completed, back to the cabin for a lovely dinner prepared by Head Chef Jon Foley.
